Simply explained.

from the boss

Spring time is asparagus time. Now it is sprouting again and the asparagus friends are happy. Asparagus is particularly rich in vitamin C, vitamin B1 and B2. Asparagus is not only very healthy but also tastes great. But it is not easy to prepare. Many therefore prefer to eat it in restaurants. Since that is unfortunately not possible at the moment, boss Josef Nieder from Flair Hotel Nieder shares his tips and tricks with you for perfect success. Cooking asparagus – simply explained:

shop
This is where the art begins: of course, we always buy super fresh asparagus from the region. It has its price, of course, but it has a better carbon footprint and a sensational taste.

Peel the asparagus
Josef Nieder recommends a simple peeler for peeling. An asparagus peeler is not necessary. It is best to put the sticks on a pot and peel away from you. This avoids injuries and allergic reactions.

how much cut off the bar?
The freshness of the asparagus can be recognized by the brightness of the cut and the color of the stick. The lighter, the fresher the product. It is better to cut off a little more to avoid woody areas.

Tip: Tie the asparagus spears together with a roulade ribbon, this makes further processing a lot easier.[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h2″ author_title_tag=“h4″ simple_quote_text=“How long do you cook asparagus?“ quote_symbol_color=“rgba(255,255,255,0.99)“ simple_quote_author=“until it’s done.“ background_color=“#75b81d“][vc_column_text]
Cooking asparagus properly
How long do you cook asparagus? Until it’s done. Depending on the thickness of the bars. About 8 minutes in water with salt, sugar and a nut-sized piece of butter.

The asparagus is done if you can squeeze the end piece together with light pressure. It is best when it still has a bit of bite.

In the hotel kitchen of the Flair Hotel Nieder we have recorded this wonderful recipe for you … and this is how it works:[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_video link=“https://youtu.be/rCDKsYE3i-g“ src=“„https://www.youtube.com/embed/xpvsvRtw0M4„“ width=“„560„“ height=“„315„“ frameborder=“„0„“][/vc_column][vc_column width=“1/3″ css=“.vc_custom_1586449348018{background-color: #75b81d !important;}“][vc_column_text]

The Flair Hotels are represented throughout Germany in uniquely beautiful areas and regions and are therefore ideally suited for a holiday in Germany. You score with sustainable action and fresh, regional food.

The longing for vacation is present in most people even in these difficult and uncertain times, but the goals are different this year. It goes to the North Sea and Baltic Sea, to the low mountain range or to places that are not even known in Germany. And hand on heart, there are many of them for most. So vacation in Germany is popular.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“9331″ img_size=“large“ add_caption=“yes“ qode_css_animation=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Sophie von Seydlitz, Head of Marketing and Sales at Flair Hotels: “After the opening of the lockdown, Flair Hotels will benefit from the trend towards vacationing in their own country. Our hoteliers have already had a lot of bookings for the next few weeks and months and that is of course a very good signal. The opportunity to go on long hikes or bike rides in rural regions, where you usually have little or no contact with other people, offers the basis for a carefree holiday and brings a feeling of calm. In addition, the hotels can be reached by train or car and you can return home flexibly, quickly and easily. Of course, maintaining personal and hand hygiene has top priority in our Flair Hotels. „[/vc_column_text][blockquote text=“Sustainability and the use of resources are important to travelers when vacationing in Germany“ show_quote_icon=“yes“ text_color=“#ffffff“ background_color=“#75b81d“ border_color=“#ffffff“ quote_icon_color=“#ffffff“][vc_column_text]What else is important to vacationers? What else do guests value besides an attractive region and a good hotel? Sustainability and the use of resources continue to play a major role in the decision to vacation in Germany, as well as the range of leisure and excursion opportunities on site, paired with plenty of space and space. This means that hiking and cycling are very popular with many holidaymakers, among other things.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“9321″ img_size=“large“ add_caption=“yes“ qode_css_animation=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The Flair Hotels, which are represented in attractive regions all over Germany, ensure with their philosophy exactly the holiday experience that is in demand and is becoming more and more popular. Flair Hotels are aware of their responsibility for sustainable action. The cooperation has its own working group that deals with the topic and forwards its results to all Flair Hotels. Avoiding garbage, replacing lightbulbs with LED lights, replacing power guzzlers with energy-saving devices and switching off unused devices are almost a matter of course. Many Flair Hotels are certified by GreenSign as a sustainable travel destination or are awarded gold in the environmental check of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association. B. the Flair Hotel Werbetal in the Waldecker Land.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“9323″ img_size=“large“ add_caption=“yes“ qode_css_animation=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]When it comes to food, in particular, regionality and sustainability play a major role in the Flair Hotels. In the Flair Hotel Reuner in Brandenburg, for example, they primarily produce themselves. There is a large garden where all the fruits and vegetables for the hotel grow. The hotelier family also keeps chickens for breakfast eggs, quails, lambs and rabbits and uses them to make sausage products. The hotelier’s father is a hunter, he delivers the game and the brother bakes the bread. If the hotelier has to buy something, such as fish, meat or asparagus, then only regionally. „We have our own nursery, where we grow and grow a lot ourselves,“ reports owner Daniel Reuner. From cucumbers and tomatoes to cauliflower, broccoli and kohlrabi to pumpkins and zucchini as well as fresh herbs, he has everything that is needed in the restaurant.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“9317″ img_size=“large“ add_caption=“yes“ qode_css_animation=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The Flair Hotel & Restaurant Erck, which is located in the Kraichgau, between the Rhine and Neckar in the west and east, and between the Odenwald and Black Forest in the north and south, attaches great importance to regionality. The „Land of 1000 Hills“ is a sun-drenched, varied landscape of vineyards, forests, orchards and romantic river valleys and is worth discovering. Junior boss Alexander Erck says: “If you want to work economically, you automatically act sustainably, otherwise you will do something wrong. We live in the country and the preservation of our beautiful area is extremely important to us. That is why we try to work as resource-efficiently as possible and produce a lot ourselves. For example, we have our own bees. With everything we buy, we try to get it from the region as much as possible. So also our excellent beef, which comes from pasture cattle from the region. „[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“9313″ img_size=“large“ add_caption=“yes“ qode_css_animation=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]In the Flair Hotel Neeth, in Holstein Switzerland, sustainability is a top priority. The region is characterized by wide meadows, rolling hills and clear lakes. Over 150 beautiful lakes invite you to swim, paddle, sail and relax. Kiel Sailing City, manors, mansions and castles of Eutin or Plön in the midst of the formative cultural landscapes offer cultural balance. The Neeth couple have dedicated themselves to regional cuisine. Kay Neeth: “In our kitchen, fresh products are mainly used from the region. We still cook with hand and heart. Our Galloway is kept robust on nature reserves, the pork is regional, the game comes from the regional forests. Of course, there are also Holstein specialties such as sour meat with hearty fried potatoes and herring. Depending on the season, we add seasonal dishes such as asparagus, fish, light summer dishes, game and kale to our menu. „[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“9319″ img_size=“large“ add_caption=“yes“ qode_css_animation=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Another Flair Hotel that scores with a lot of landscape, untouched nature and sustainability is the Flair Hotel Werbetal in Waldecker Land – perfect for holidays in Germany. Hotelier Christian Gerlach also mainly uses regional products. „I buy z. B. Hutewald pig. Here in Basdorf’s Hutewald, they feed on beechnuts and acorns in autumn, ”says Gerlach. “For the first time, there were Waldecker country geese in the last goose season. I buy fish from the local fishery. ”Christian Gerlach takes it for granted that he avoids rubbish. “We heat CO2-neutrally with regional wood,” he says. “I’m interested in protecting the environment myself. I also feel connected to the other farmers in the region, because strengthening them is my declared goal ”.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=“9315″ img_size=“large“ add_caption=“yes“ qode_css_animation=““][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Ochsenfurt, December 2020 – The Flair Hotels annual conference brings a lot of news – a new board of directors and a new subsidiary: Flair Hotels e. V. founds a GmbH with Hotelfux. Sophie von Seydlitz is the managing director of the new subsidiary. Flair Hotel of the year 2021 is Häfner’s Flair Hotel Adlerbad and Flair Chef of the year is Alexander Erck from Flair Hotel Erck.

Unusual times require unusual measures: For the first time in the 37-year history of Flair Hotels, the traditional annual conference took place online at the end of November. But that’s not the only reason why this annual conference was a very special one. Furthermore, there was also important news for the 46 Flair members, because a new daughter was welcomed in addition to a new board of directors.

Hotelfux GmbH

With the advertising company Hotelfux, a subsidiary was founded a few weeks ago, the mother of which is 100% Flair Hotels e. V. is. The managing director of Hotelfux, who has been sales and marketing manager for Flair Hotels for four years, is Sophie von Seydlitz. During the event, Flair members explained the numerous advantages associated with the start-up.

“With Hotelfux we will in future be able to easily handle services that we have been successfully offering our Flair hoteliers for many years. With this step excellent opportunities have been created to be able to survive successfully in the market in the future. Because our scope of services has grown significantly in recent years and has become very flexible. Now we have also found the right legal form to map this even more successfully, ”explains Sophie von Seydlitz.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Plans & goals

The 33-year-old von Seydlitz has many plans: “With the establishment of Hotelfux, we now have completely new possibilities to offer our members flexible support. On the one hand, we can offer individual modules and continue to be active, above all, for hotels that are not up to Flair. Because the economic form of the association was no longer suitable with the strongly grown service portfolio to offer the individual the individual support that is needed. “

The basic aim of the GmbH foundation is to offer additional services that can be booked in addition to the services that are the same for all Flair members, such as quality management, branding, catalog creation, website, booking systems, etc. Non-members should also have the opportunity to use the special services of Hotelfux nationwide and in the EU-German-speaking area.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Hotelfux is an agency that specializes primarily in medium-sized hotel business. The team is very familiar with the challenges and the systems and knows what potential hotel guests need and what they value.

The competent team of employees around Sophie von Seydlitz has already been expanded in the last 12 months. For example, an employee who is exclusively responsible for technical support and a social media manager came on board.
Strengths & target groups

Sophie von Seydlitz: “With the establishment of the GmbH, we are strengthening the parent company, Flair Hotels e.V., because with Hotelfux we want to earn money with our offers and services tailored to the industry and this will ultimately also benefit the Flair hotel cooperation. Because the Flair members can look forward to decreasing membership fees. In return, they all get the same services and can purchase highly specialized marketing and sales services from the subsidiary at a preferential price. “

The target group of Hotelfux are medium-sized, family-run businesses in Germany and in the German-speaking EU area. The Flair Hotels e. V. will again, as it was the original purpose, stand up for technical group solutions, lobby work and promote the exchange of experiences.[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h2″ author_title_tag=“h5″ simple_quote_text=“… we offer highly specialized marketing and services.“ simple_quote_author=“Sophie von Seydlitz“ background_color=“#75b31d“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
A young board member moves up

The new management board elections of the Flair Hotel e.V. were also pending at this year’s conference.

First of all, Hans-Joachim Stöver, who has been chairman for six years, thanked his representative Petra Holzinger and the other board colleagues in an emotional speech for the longstanding support of all Flairies. A secret postal vote was then used. The sealed envelopes were sent by post to the Flair office in Ochsenfurt. There the votes were counted and the result announced last weekend.

With Daniel Reuner as 1st chairman and Sascha Bannier as deputy, a young board member is now starting work at Flair Hotels e.V. Both are supported by five other Flair colleagues, who competently fill the positions from treasurer to secretary to assessor and auditor.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Flair Wine 0.1

A passion and love of wine – these are the hallmarks of the Schmidt vineyard in Bullenheim, the largest wine village in Middle Franconia. A joint venture between father and son Frank and Lukas, the Franconian vineyard focuses on the environmentally-friendly production of top-quality wine.

The 2016 Bullenheim Paradies is a wine just the way the two Franconian winemakers like it: „Nice and fruity and soft, a well-rounded Silvaner with character“. Matured on the steep and sunny hillsides of the „Bullenheim Paradise“, it carries the aromas and minerality of the Gipskeuper soil and is a culinary ambassador for its region.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=“5/12″][vc_single_image image=“5443″ img_size=“medium“ alignment=“center“ qode_css_animation=““][vc_column_text]

Flair Wine 0.2

Down-to-earth, dedicated and environmentally aware – Badische Winzerkeller relies on the best of tradition and innovation when it comes to producing its speciality wines. The sun plays its part in Baden. Cellar masters Jörg Wiedemann and Ottmar Ruf won the special prize from the Baden Winegrowing Association for the quality of their wine as the best Cellar Masters in Baden in 2016 and 2017.

Ripened by the sun and matured in wooden barrels, the 2016 pinot noir has an impressively fine fruitiness and aromas of cherries and blackberries. Soft tannins and a slight acerbity provide an elegant yet rich flavour.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][blockquote text=“Frank & Lukas Schmidt (Flair Wine 0.1)“ show_quote_icon=“no“ text_color=“#4d4d4d“ width=“95″ line_height=“32″ border_color=“#ededed“][vc_column_text]The Frank & Lukas Schmidt vineyard from Fanconian Bullenheim makes top-class wine with character. The father and son team complement each other perfectly and have already won multiple awards for their wines. Flair Wine No. 1. is a dry white wine with a unique character. The Silvaner is a fruity, elegant and characteristic accompaniment to food. The 2016 wine comes from Bullenheim, Middle Franconia’s largest wine-producing town. Here the Silvaner grapes mature on the extremely steep and sunny hillsides of the “Bullenheim Paradise” vineyard location. The geological formation, the Gipskeuper formation, helps the wines grow especially well and also provides the grapes with sufficient substance, aromas and minerality. This results in the fruity, soft and well-rounded Silvaner with character. The vineyard is rated in the Eichelmann Wine Guide as above-average. The Silvaner is traditionally bottled in Bocksbeutel curvaceous bottles and is thus an unmistakable indication of a German premium wine. Bocksbeutel bottles are also special since these are the relaunched Bockbeutel PS. For more information, see www.schmidt-wein.de[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=“22px“][blockquote text=“At home in the regions“ show_quote_icon=“no“ text_color=“#4d4d4d“ width=“95″ line_height=“32″ border_color=“#ededed“][vc_column_text]Hans-Joachim Stöver: “With Flair Wine No. 1, we are offering our hoteliers a premium wine at a competitive price and our guests a brand recognition feature. This quality wine is available in all Flair Hotels. With our Flair Wine, we are emphasizing our connection with the local area and offering an incomparable wine that is made in Germany in all of our hotels.“

This campaign further emphasizes and promotes the theme of “regionality”. Our Flair slogan “At home in the regions” is practised with all hoteliers and is also demonstrated and communicated externally. Additional campaigns are being planned.

Stöver: “We can well imagine offering our guests other top-quality products from local quality producers in all Flair Hotels or even beers from our own breweries in the Flair member companies. But first of all we’d like to drink to the success of Flair Wine No. 1.”[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=“22px“][blockquote text=“Flair Hotel chain“ show_quote_icon=“no“ text_color=“#4d4d4d“ width=“95″ line_height=“32″ border_color=“#ededed“][vc_column_text]There are currently 58 Flair Hotels in Germany, Austria and Italy offering diverse holidays for the whole family at attractive rural destinations. Häfner’s Flair Hotel Adlerbad

Come with us to paradise – more precisely: to the hiking paradise. Bad Peterstal-Griesbach in the Black Forest stands for excellent hiking holidays. The German Hiking Institute has named the place a “premium hiking location”. This guarantees that the demanding hiking guests in Bad Peterstal-Griesbach are guaranteed an outstanding and unmistakable hiking experience. In this hiking paradise, the Häfner family takes care of their guests at the Häfner’s Flair Hotel Adlerbad. The hotel, which is surrounded by three premium hiking trails, is the Flair Hotel of the Year 2021.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The Häfner family is all about hikers. „We have prepared more than 30 hiking tours of our own for our guests,“ says hotel owner Jens Häfner. Including, of course, personal insider tips from the hotelier. The GPS data and tour descriptions are exclusively available in-house. “We also lend hiking equipment such as hiking sticks, rucksacks or binoculars,” says Häfner. A GPS service, hiking maps, tour descriptions and local tour advice are a matter of course. The hotel even offers a hiking shuttle bus.[/vc_column_text][qode_advanced_image_gallery type=“masonry“ enable_image_shadow=“no“ number_of_columns=“three“ space_between_items=“large“ images=“10398,10609,8115″ image_size=“full“][vc_column_text]

The Häfner’s Flair Hotel Adlerbad is well prepared for this. In the restaurant there are delicacies from the region, always fresh and seasonal. “Our kitchen also pampers gourmets,” says Jens Häfner, making us want more. Those who want to switch off are in good hands in the wellness area with the modern sauna area. Here you can enjoy your time-out with a Finnish sauna, thermium, steam bath grotto, campfire and more. “Let your soul dangle with us,” invites Jens Häfner.[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h4″ background_color=“#75b81d“ simple_quote_text=“The Flair Hotels have made Häfner’s Flair Hotel Adlerbad in the Black Forest the Flair Hotel of the Year“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Flair chef Alexander Erck

Relaxed casualness paired with the joy of extraordinary enjoyment – because of this unique combination of talent, Alexander Erck from the Flair Hotel Erck in Bad Schönborn in Kraichgau was named Flair Chef of the Year 2021. In his popular restaurant DER ERCK, the top chef spoils his guests with creative, modern regional cuisine and seasonal accents, which surprise again and again with supraregional impulses. “We also have a slight French twist in our kitchen, simply due to the proximity to nearby Alsace,” he says.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
Alexander Erck’s focus is on purchasing: the products must ideally be from home – fresh, healthy and full of flavor from the place where they are produced on the plate. Of course, Erck knows the winemaker, the farmer, the butcher, the baker and brewer who supplies him personally. In this way he can guarantee the highest quality of the products and promote species-appropriate husbandry and sustainable production without genetic manipulation.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][qode_advanced_image_gallery type=“grid“ enable_image_shadow=“no“ image_behavior=“zoom“ number_of_columns=“four“ space_between_items=“small“ images=“7746,9708,9312,8249″ image_size=“full“][vc_column_text]As a hobby hunter, Alexander Erck shoots the game that is processed in the kitchen himself. He then uses the entire animal. Game dishes are on his menu all year round. „We sometimes make light summer cuisine with game and the guests just know it’s sustainable meat.“ Alexander Erck is also a beekeeper. „We have our own honey from my bees, which are in the hunting grounds on orchards.“ The sustainable cuisine at DER ERCK meets the highest standards. Alexander Erck also has a mission: “I would be delighted if our guests were enthusiastic about sustainability through my kitchen style. There is something here for all types of hikers: from very leisurely tours to steep climbs in the vineyards or on the Löwenstein mountains. The varied route is exciting. Sometimes it goes through vineyards, sometimes along orchards. Open landscape with a wide view alternates with wooded areas. Sometimes you walk on easy country roads, sometimes on adventurous paths. The signposted hiking trails are between three and 63 kilometers long. On the way or as a conclusion, numerous restaurants and sights invite you to stop off or visit.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Like the Flair Hotel Landgasthof Roger in Löwenstein-Hößlinsülz. It is located in the middle of the „Swabian Tuscany“ and is therefore the perfect starting point for hikes and bike tours. „We are only a ten-minute walk from Lake Breitenau,“ reports hotelier Michael Roger. The largest lake in the Weinsberger Valley is a popular local recreation area and a magnet for visitors. Here you can not only go swimming, boating and stand-up paddling. The 4.3 kilometer circular lake path offers fascinating views and attracts walkers, joggers and cyclists. The sandy beach and sunbathing lawn invite you to laze around, for sports fans there are among other things ball playgrounds and an outdoor fitness park.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Weinsberger valley

The Weinsberger Valley is also popular with two-wheelers with more horsepower who are out and about with their motorcycles. From long turns to tight bends, everything is included, only sections of the route with 100 kilometers per hour are rare. Many different landscapes and cultural regions make the tours attractive. It goes past forests, meadows, vineyards and orchards as well as castles and palaces, so that there are many possibilities for sightseeing or culinary stops apart from motorcycling. The viewing platform on the B 39 between Löwenstein and Hirrweiler is a „Mecca“ for motorcyclists. Here the bikers meet because of the beautiful view of the valley and to exchange experiences.[/vc_column_text][qode_advanced_image_gallery type=“grid“ enable_image_shadow=“no“ image_behavior=“zoom“ number_of_columns=“three“ space_between_items=“small“ images=“11651,11649,11647″ image_size=“full“][vc_column_text]
The Löwenstein Mountains in the Weinsberger Valley are also part of the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park. In this 1.2 square kilometer protected area, mindful nature experience is paramount. It is worthwhile to consciously discover and experience the wonderful landscape. For example when visiting a nature park market where regional products are sold. Or on a guided foray with a nature park guide. On Sundays and public holidays, the nature park guides take their visitors on a variety of exciting tours all about nature and culture. Be it hikes through unspoilt forests, informative trips to historical sites or culinary tours and herb hikes – the nature park guides always have exciting stories with them.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=““ row_type=“row“ use_row_as_full_screen_section=“no“ type=“full_width“ angled_section=“no“ text_align=“left“ background_image_as_pattern=“without_pattern“][vc_column width=“2/3″][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
One has grandiose views of the Weinsberger valley from its slopes. The most beautiful are probably granted by Löwenstein due to its elevated position. „Each of the ten most beautiful vantage points in Löwenstein has its own motto and was designed by a local artist,“ says hotelier Michael Roger. So if you want to know what is hidden behind sofa whispers or twittering rooms, you should just take a look. The tower of Löwenstein Castle offers one of the most beautiful views. It enables an all-round view of the Löwenstein mountains, the Weinsberger valley and the Odenwald.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Löwenstein Castle

Löwenstein Castle was built around 1090. Today only the foundation walls are left next to the tower. Nevertheless, the extensive castle grounds are a popular meeting place with a barbecue area and a kiosk. There are guided tours of the castle as well as a castle program with various activities and live music. At 539 meters, the Stocksberg in the Swabian Forest is the highest mountain in the Löwenstein Mountains. Many hiking trails lead up. More information about Löwenstein Castle here.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Not only the former Löwenstein Castle is part of the diverse cultural landscape of the Weinsberger Valley. On the other side of the valley, above Weinsberg, is the Weibertreu castle ruin and a wine museum is housed in the former tithe barn in Erlenbach-Binswangen. The Obersulm-Weiler school and toy museum takes visitors back in time. In the most Swabian of all museums, the Bauspar Museum in Wüstenrot, visitors can find all sorts of interesting facts about the Bausparkasse.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][vc_column width=“1/3″][vc_single_image image=“11644″ img_size=“full“ alignment=“right“ onclick=“link_image“ qode_css_animation=““][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=““ row_type=“row“ use_row_as_full_screen_section=“no“ type=“full_width“ angled_section=“no“ text_align=“left“ background_image_as_pattern=“without_pattern“ padding_top=“0″ padding_bottom=“14″][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Viticulture has a long tradition in the Weinsberger Valley. The heavy Keuper soils, the colorful marl and the sunny climate allow excellent grapes to ripen, from which the winemakers press particularly good wines with a lot of love and know-how. They are served in the restaurants in the Weinsberger Valley and in numerous taverns. Also in the Flair Hotel Landgasthof Roger. “We also like to take our guests on a hike in the vineyards,” says Michael Roger. „There is then a wine tasting with a local winemaker.“[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator type=“normal“ color=“#75b31d“][vc_empty_space][action full_width=“yes“ content_in_grid=“yes“ type=“normal“ text_font_weight=““ show_button=“yes“]Book us at the Fair Hotel Landgasthof Roger.[/action][product id=“1801″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

The cycle path through Holstein Switzerland

The delightful landscape of Holstein Switzerland is great to explore by bike and you can also make a detour to Berlin, Brazil and California. Too far? On the contrary, the bike tour through the interior of Schleswig-Holstein, devised by two Flair hoteliers, makes it possible.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We want to show our guests that it’s not just beautiful in the north of the Baltic Sea, ”say Kay Neeth and Henning Molt. “The interior of the country is a dream for cyclists.” That is why the two Flair hoteliers – Kay Neeth from the Flair Hotel Neeth and Henning Molt from the Flair Hotel Strengliner Mühle – have developed a 46-kilometer bike tour where you can discover exactly this typical charm.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
The tour connects our two hotels – you can take different routes there and back, ”explains Henning Molt. “And on the way you pass the most beautiful corners of our homeland,” says Kay Neeth, whet the appetite for more. And there is more: Because in addition, the two Flair hoteliers have come up with rallies from their hotels. So you can extend your cycling holiday and discover other pearls of Northern Germany.[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h4″ author_title_tag=“h2″ simple_quote_text=“Many do not even know that the big wide world lies in Schleswig-Holstein“ simple_quote_author=“Henning Molt“ background_color=“#75b81d“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
The Flair Landhotel Strengliner Mühle is located in Pronstorf-Strenglin. From there it takes about 2.5 hours to the outskirts of Preetz. Here, in Lehmkuhlen OT Dammdorf, the Flair Hotel Neeth welcomes its guests. The tour leads through Dersau, Ascheberg and Preetz. „Along the entire route, cyclists can expect partially untouched nature, and one or the other sight invites you to take a short break,“ enthuses Henning Molt.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=““ row_type=“row“ use_row_as_full_screen_section=“no“ type=“full_width“ angled_section=“no“ text_align=“left“ background_image_as_pattern=“without_pattern“][vc_column width=“2/3″][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
If you need a little more variety – the boat trip across the Great Plöner See is not just a shortcut, but also relaxation for the soul. “A lot of people don’t even know that the big wide world is in Schleswig-Holstein,” grins Henning Molt. What is meant is the small village of Weitewelt, which belongs to the community of Seedorf. You can travel through Weitewelt on the tour as well as through Berlin. Berlin? “This is not only the name of our capital, but also a small village up here,” explains the Flair hotelier.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
The way back

The two hoteliers then recommend a different route from the Flair Hotel Neeth back to the Flair Landhotel Strengliner Mühle. This time it goes through Plön and Bosau. “It’s worth taking a longer break in both places,” says Kay Neeth. Plön is not only characterized by its unique location in the middle of the picturesque lake landscape, the impressive Plön Castle also invites you to visit. “We recommend a tour of the castle area with its historic buildings.” You shouldn’t miss the Prinzeninsel either. The narrow headland through the Großer Plöner See is an interesting natural experience that is reserved for pedestrians and cyclists.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
In Bosau, the Dunkersche Kate with its cottage garden and bakery is well worth a detour. “There are art exhibitions and craft markets here all year round,” says Kay Neeth. The beautifully restored St. Petri Church in Bosau is the summer venue for the locally well-known summer concerts with sometimes quite spectacular performances. „Little Warder – that’s what an island is called in northern Germany – on the Bischofsee is ideal for a nice tour,“ says Kay Neeth. It is located on the outskirts of Bosau. Display boards give insights into the surrounding flora and fauna.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=“1/3″][vc_single_image image=“11611″ img_size=“full“ alignment=“right“ onclick=“link_image“ qode_css_animation=““][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=““ row_type=“row“ use_row_as_full_screen_section=“no“ type=“full_width“ angled_section=“no“ text_align=“left“ background_image_as_pattern=“without_pattern“ padding_top=“0″ padding_bottom=“14″][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
The bike tour run by the two Flair hoteliers is suitable for both sporty riders without electrical assistance and for leisure cyclists who are out and about with an e-bike. At which hotel you start and end the tour is up to you. What is certain is that both hotels are a great place to go for the night. Both shine with cozy rooms and excellent regional cuisine. “Of course we are well prepared for the cyclists,” says Kay Neeth. Guests can conveniently park their bikes and charge e-bikes.[/vc_column_text][qode_advanced_image_gallery type=“grid“ enable_image_shadow=“no“ image_behavior=“zoom“ number_of_columns=“four“ space_between_items=“small“ images=“11616,11614,11612,11606″ image_size=“full“][vc_column_text]
More bike paths

Both Flair Hotels are also the starting point for further excursions in the region. “You can plan a multi-day cycling holiday with our hotels,” explains Henning Molt. From its flair Landhotel Strengliner Mühle, for example, it’s 17 kilometers to Bad Segeberg. That should especially inspire friends of the Wild West. Because: „The Karl May Games have been staged there in an open-air theater since 1952,“ reports Henning Molt. The Hanseatic city of Lübeck with its brick buildings – such as the famous Holstentor – is around 22 kilometers away. The seaside resort Timmendorfer Strand (approx. 28 km) and the holiday resort Travemünde on the Baltic Sea (approx. 36 km) are further destinations that can be reached for a day trip by bike.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]From the Flair Hotel Neeth it is only around 20 kilometers to Kiel. “Our state capital offers not only a tour of the city, but also a visit to the shipping museum in the listed fish hall,” recommends Kay Neeth. Cyclists travel around 25 kilometers from his hotel to the town of Laboe on the Kieler Förder. Laboe is best known for the Naval Memorial, which commemorates the fallen sailors of the two world wars.[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h4″ author_title_tag=“h2″ simple_quote_text=“We are of course well prepared for the cyclists“ simple_quote_author=“Kay Neeth“ background_color=“#75b81d“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]“You can also reach beautiful beaches on the Baltic Sea from our house by bike,” says Kay Neeth. Cyclists have about 20 kilometers to the Ostseebad Schönberg and another four kilometers more to the long Schönberger Strand. Have you ever been to Brazil or California? Both are possible on this bike tour. Because the community of Schönberg includes two places directly on the Baltic Sea that have these names. From the Flair Hotel Neeth it is about 25 kilometers to get there.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
If you want to start pedaling right now, you are welcome to contact the hotels. Kay Neeth and Henning Molt are looking forward to their bike-loving guests. On the new blockline in the Ore Mountains you can experience breathtaking freedom over 140 kilometers.

With the whole family on the bike? Then off to the Ore Mountains. There is a brand new, impressive route full of nature experiences with the Blockline. On a total of 140 kilometers and around 2500 meters of altitude, bikers can expect the great feeling of infinite freedom. The Blockline will not officially open until June, but it has been possible to drive the route since the end of last year. Well-trained mountain bikers are not the only ones addressed. The Blockline is also easy to create for families with children from around eight years of age. Thanks to the e-bike, the grandparents can also go on the adventure tour with ease.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Loops in the Eastern Ore Mountains

Three loops divide the blockline into three exciting rounds. They take young and old adventurers on an expedition into the beautiful, untouched nature of the Eastern Ore Mountains. Breathtaking attractions made of wood point the way to a land of impressive panoramas, unique rock formations, dams rich in animals, lush mountain meadows and idyllic streams. There are three loops full of freedom, longing and adventure: simply enjoy the sensational all-round view of the basalt cone of the detached Schwartenberg, explore the valley of the watermills and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of wood art. Shorter daily stages and a clever choice of accommodation leave plenty of space to discover the Ore Mountains around the route. On average, families are on the road for two to four days.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

The Flair and Berghotel Talblick in Holzhau is one of ten hosts on the Blockline. Owner Iris glasses is completely geared towards bikers. There is not only storage space for two-wheelers you have brought with you, but also a rental facility. “We have cool e-bikes ready,” she says. A charging station for e-bikes ensures the necessary range. „We are right at the starting point of the blockline,“ reveals Iris glasses. The official opening event for the Blockline will also take place here in Holzhau. Iris glasses is enthusiastic about the project. “This is fun fun not only for professionals, but for everyone,” says the hotel manager happily. „An exhilaration of freedom, without riot and exhaust fumes, but with lots of fresh air in our beautiful nature.“[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Location and arrival

The Blockline is located in the east of the Ore Mountains, between Seiffen – world-famous for its wood art – and the Altenberg winter sports center. It connects three cities and six municipalities across three districts with the “Blockhausen” forest experience center. Dresden is 45 minutes away by car. It is 90 minutes to Prague and 1 hour and 45 minutes to Leipzig. Bayreuth and Erfurt are each two and a half hours, Berlin and Magdeburg three hours away. In the west, all train stations between Mulda (Saxony) and the “Holzhau Skilift” are suitable for accessing the Blockline. Geising and Altenberg are the train stations in the east of the line.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Loops
1: Sayda-Seiffen, 55km, 1120 meters in altitude[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h4″ background_color=“#75b81d“ simple_quote_text=“Water, forests and blooming mountain meadows – like something out of a Mark Twain novel“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Mining has had a significant impact on people and the region in the Ore Mountains. The ore is firmly anchored in their DNA. The raw material wood, however, is the basis for this development: without rafting, charcoal burning and toolmaking, successful ore mining would not be conceivable. When the ore veins were running low and the mountain screeching slowly fell silent, toolmaking and filigree wood art were the saving second pillar. Wood is the raw material that has had a lasting impact on people and the region. Here, surrounded by the Ore Mountains forests, begins the story of the Blockline, an impressive bike experience through the essence of the Ore Mountains.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
2: Altenberg-Hermsdorf, 62km, 1260 meters in altitude[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h4″ background_color=“#71d35b“ simple_quote_text=“This is where nature pulls the plug“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Just let go, pull the plug, switch off and let the stress escape. The mountain meadows are in full bloom. And we are right in the middle of it all, surrounded by the fragrant bearwort, the blue devil’s claw, the rare, purple-blooming orchid orchid, bright orange fire lilies, yellow-gold coltsfoot, the purple-lilac wood cranesbill, yellow globeflowers, white spring mugs and yellow arnica. In the distance you can hear the twittering of the wren while a dipper hops along the stream. We can only imagine the diversity of species for which the forests and mountain meadows offer a safe home: red deer, hares, otters and badgers as well as gray woodpeckers, black storks, black grouse and bats. Adders, forest lizards, blindworms, grass snakes and fire salamanders are also at home here. They all invite you to discover their diverse home.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=“normal“ color=“#75b31d“][vc_column_text]Further information:https://blockline.bike[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][action full_width=“yes“ content_in_grid=“yes“ type=“normal“ text_font_weight=““ show_button=“yes“]Book your Flair and Berghotel Talblick here:[/action][product id=“1389″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=““ row_type=“row“ use_row_as_full_screen_section=“no“ type=“full_width“ angled_section=“no“ text_align=“left“ background_image_as_pattern=“without_pattern“][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]

The German Fairy Tale Route is one of the oldest and most popular travel routes for fairy tale enthusiasts. In the footsteps of the brothers Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm, you can bring Cinderella’s castle, Rapunzel’s Trendelburg or Hansel and Gretel’s witch’s house back to life.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutsche Märchenstraße”, which was founded in 1975, covers a distance of 600 kilometers and leads to over 60 stations that bring Grimm’s world-famous fairy tale characters to life. The Märchenstrasse connects more than 70 cities and communities between Hanau and Bremen. You can embark on this magical journey on foot, by bike or by car.

[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h4″ author_title_tag=“h2″ simple_quote_text=“Erleben Sie Geschichte und Geschichten und entdecken Sie eine über 1000 Jahre alte Stadt und ihre Umgebung auf märchenhafte Weise.“ simple_quote_author=“Flair Hotel Stadt Höxter“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“ background_color=“#75b81d“][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Starting point in Hanau

The journey begins in the birthplace of the Brothers Grimm – in Hanau. There you can find a large bronze monument on the market square that depicts Wilhelm sitting on a pedestal while Jacob is standing diagonally behind him. An old myth says, however, that the two would have swapped places at midnight and it was therefore not possible to say for sure whether this was also the truth.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
Hansel and Gretel in the town of Höxter

Another stop on the fairy tale route is the town of Höxter. A place with a long history as well as numerous myths and anecdotes. Here the Brothers Grimm have cultivated some Hansel and Gretel Brunnen friendships and are said to have collected around 60 fairy tales. In the lively, historic city center you will not only find a Hansel and Gretel fountain, but also today some of the most beautiful buildings of the Weser Renaissance.

With the help of various themed city tours, you can experience Höxter up close. One of the tours deals with the topic of myths, anecdotes and legends.

{% ALT_TEXT%}
City of Höxter, Andreas Hub

In addition, you can take a group tour with Jost Ziegenhirt. This takes you through the oldest corners and alleys in Höxter and tells you about his former life.

In the Höxter district, however, the fairy tale of the Bremen Town Musicians also has some settings. For example, the robber’s house in the fairy tale is said to be there. In the nearby town of Polle in the district of Holzminden you can visit the ruins of the romantic castle in Cinderella’s homeland.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]There is also a Flair Hotel on the German Fairy Tale Route. The Flair Hotel Stadt Höxter has integrated small elements from the world of fairy tales into the rooms and restaurants. Picture walls tell of the fascination and diversity of the fairy tale world, wall stickers in the hotel rooms tell the fairy tales with quotes and small figurines on the tables remind of the stories. With the “Hansel” and “Gretel” e-bikes, you can easily reach all of the vantage points. The Flair Hotel Höxter is a perfect stopover on your journey through the fairytale cities.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][qode_advanced_image_gallery type=“grid“ enable_image_shadow=“no“ image_behavior=“zoom“ number_of_columns=“three“ space_between_items=“tiny“ images=“10987,10999,10985″ image_size=“full“][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Weitere Märchenstädte

The Brothers Grimm studied law in the university town of Marburg. Here they began to pass their first fairy tales and you can visit the former home of the siblings.

The hometown of Little Red Riding Hood is presumed to be in Schwalmstadt in the Schwalm. The traditional costume of the red “Betztel” is still worn there today.

The realm of Frau Holle is said to be in Hessisch Lichtenau. She shook out her beds on the Hoher Meissner.

The Trendelburg, built in the town of the same name, was used by Rapunzel to draw her lover to her with her long hair. From the tower you can marvel at the surrounding area for kilometers.

Here is more about the fairytale cities on the German Fairy Tale Route.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=“normal“ color=“#75b31d“][vc_column_text]Make a stop on your trip at the Flair Hotel Stadt Höxter and experience the fairytale town of Höxter up close.[/vc_column_text][product id=“1586″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Safe hiking with digitized routes in the Sauerland

Hiking is fun and healthy. Every step awakens the spirits and strengthens not only the body but also the soul. Those who regularly go mountaineering or hike through forests and meadows promote their health above all. As you know, hiking strengthens the cardiovascular system on the one hand, but also strengthens the thighs. In addition, hiking with sticks also trains the arm muscles and even the back muscles benefit from the movement, which has a direct influence on posture. But not only does hiking make you healthy and slim, it slows you down, takes the pace out of everyday life and is good for your soul. And how nice it is to listen to the chirping birds, to the wind rushing through the trees and to breathe deeply in the smell of the forest.

Hiking in the Sauerland

The beautiful Sauerland is the ideal starting point for a variety of long hiking tours. Over hill and dale, up and down the Sauerland, past idyllic half-timbered houses, through gentle landscapes with green hills, long ridges and wide valleys. In summary: The Sauerland is a paradise for small and large guests and offers unlimited possibilities to be active or to relax.[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h4″ author_title_tag=“h2″ simple_quote_text=“Hiking is fun and healthy!“ simple_quote_author=“Josef Nieder“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“ background_color=“#75b81d“][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=““ row_type=“row“ use_row_as_full_screen_section=“no“ type=“full_width“ angled_section=“no“ text_align=“left“ background_image_as_pattern=“without_pattern“][vc_column][vc_column_text]

In the Flair Hotel Nieder, special attention is paid to the topic of hiking. Because: hiking is fun and healthy!

Josef Nieder, owner of the hotel and trained hiking guide of the Sauerland Mountain Association (SGV), regularly leads tours for his guests and thus reveals his personal insider tips. The hotel offers three guided hikes a week. If Josef Nieder’s time allows, he leads most of the tours himself and impressively shows his guests the most beautiful corners of his homeland.
Digitized hiking routes in the Sauerland

For everyone who likes to hike alone, the hotel manager has come up with something special. Because he has known the most beautiful corners of his homeland since childhood. He has digitized the most beautiful routes for his guests. Interested guests can view the routes and choose their favorite tour under the following link: https: //www.hotel- nieder.de/wandern/wanderrouten.html. This can be loaded directly onto the mobile phone and the hiking tour begins.
There are walks for everyone

The offer ranges from easy to difficult and from short to long hikes. Each tour is described in detail. The special sights and the viewpoints are also mentioned, as well as the degree of difficulty and the duration of the tour. And even geological highlights on the way are always shown to the hiker. You can follow the route exactly and get to your destination and back to the hotel safely and without getting lost. All of the trails have been put together by Josef Nieder himself and can be hiked in various lengths directly from the hotel.[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h4″ author_title_tag=“h2″ simple_quote_text=“Spring awakening“ simple_quote_author=“Recharge your batteries now!“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“ background_color=“#75b81d“][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Valentine’s Day at the Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten

Valentine’s Day on February 14th every year divides people’s minds: some celebrated it as a day of love, others dismissed it as commerce. But this day is not only one of the best-selling days of the year for florists, but also for restaurateurs and hoteliers. So also for the married couple Tanja and Thomas Frank, owners of the Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Bad Urach. During the lockdown it is unfortunately not possible for them to pamper their guests personally, because like all industry colleagues they are waiting for the reopening. That’s why they came up with something very special: visitors to the website are greeted by a pop-up with a three-course menu for Valentine’s Day that can be ordered, the Valentine’s box.

Boxes to enjoy from Bad Urach

The Frank family had already come up with something at Christmas: boxes on the subject of „goose“. The cooked dishes, according to the trained chef Thomas Frank, are of course not even delivered within Germany, but vacuum-insulated and sent on the journey in a package with ice packs. In fact, there were 40 boxes outside the region in winter.[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h4″ author_title_tag=“h2″ simple_quote_text=“We are always happy to come up with something for love and our guests“ simple_quote_author=“Familie Frank“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“ background_color=“#75b81d“][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=““ row_type=“row“ use_row_as_full_screen_section=“no“ type=“full_width“ angled_section=“no“ text_align=“left“ background_image_as_pattern=“without_pattern“][vc_column][vc_column_text]

No standstill at the Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten

As for the entire hotel and restaurant industry, it is also a difficult time for the Frank family. The companies have already been closed for 13 weeks and most of them are waiting for the day to reopen, with only a partial payment of the November aid.

At normal times, the Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten employs 20-25 people. Since the hotel is below the regular workforce of 50 people, the Frank family can expect a reimbursement of sales of 75 percent instead of 70 percent. The application went very quickly, but processing still takes time: „We are still waiting for half of the total amount,“ says Thomas Frank.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Exchange of colleagues within the Flair Hotels

As one of 42 Flair Hotels in Germany and Austria, the Franks always have close contact with their Flair colleagues. All Flair Hotels are family-run businesses, unique in their region and so geographically distributed that they don’t get in each other’s way.

The almost 50 hoteliers have been exchanging digital information every week since November 2020; Thomas Frank found out that some companies recently received the full payment. „Networking with my colleague helps a lot because you can discuss ambiguities and give each other tips.“ And indeed there are unexpected revelations here, such as the competence of one’s own tax advisor: „The government is not to blame for everything, sometimes there is a problem somewhere else,“ says Thomas Frank with a smile.[/vc_column_text][qode_advanced_image_gallery type=“grid“ enable_image_shadow=“no“ image_behavior=“zoom“ number_of_columns=“four“ space_between_items=“small“ images=“4834,684,4833,759″ image_size=“full“][vc_column_text]

Stay optimistic and persevere

At the Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, one no longer believes in the hope of being able to open at Easter. Nonetheless, Tanja and Thomas Frank remain optimistic. You are currently looking online for a specialist for reception and for a Chef de Partie. Because only three employees of the old workforce remained, some former employees are now trying their luck in other industries. However, the Frank family is certain: „The pandemic will have consequences. For this, however, you will only be ridiculed by some colleagues. But the industry has to change and we have already started.“

Change in the hotel industry

The Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten usually accommodates more than 50 percent business travelers; however, many of them will not come back as conferences often take place online now and in the future. Since November 2020, only 10 guests have stayed at Franks for work. And it is precisely this failure that the Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten would like to compensate with those seeking relaxation.

For this reason, the Frank family is currently expanding the reception and setting up a new lobby. And all of this with more space so that the guests can keep their distance after the pandemic and feel even safer and more comfortable. Because not only the hoteliers but also the guests are waiting for an early reopening.[/vc_column_text][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h4″ author_title_tag=“h2″ simple_quote_text=“Our guests should feel even more comfortable with us“ simple_quote_author=“Tanja & Thomas Frank“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“ background_color=“#75b81d“][vc_column_text]

Regional products in our own online shop

The regionality of the products used is a major issue at the Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten. That is why the Frank family recently entered into a cooperation with the Biolandhof Bleiche of the Bruderhaus Diakonie. And it is precisely these regional products and menus that are marketed in the in-house online shop. Thanks to Corona, Thomas Frank has finally found the time to set up this online shop, which he had had as an idea in his head for a long time. The shop is currently not yet profitable; Thomas Frank expects two to three years for it to be established.

Waiting for the reopening

With the low income, government aid and the reserves, one could hold out for a while. The Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten is now in its fourth generation. And one has already survived much worse: during the Second World War, the house burned to the ground in a bomb attack in February 1945. Since an opening at Easter is unlikely to be expected, the operating couple Frank are now waiting for the second season and are looking forward to welcoming guests again soon.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator type=“normal“ color=“#74b31d“][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Enjoy a few relaxing days in the Flair Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][product id=“683″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

This is why it’s so important to purposefully enjoy some down time and regain your inner balance. Wellness is the keyword here. Lots of Flair Hotels offer their guests an oasis of relaxation for this reason. We show you what you can expect from wellness with Flair.

What exactly does wellness mean?

What is wellness exactly? The term “wellness” is not protected it can mean different offers. At the end of the day, it’s simply about spoiling yourself and unwinding. Wellness treatments can include visits to the sauna, an aromatherapy session, massages, spas, sporting activities, yoga, a facial mask or simply good food. That’s for you to decide, since not all treatments are for everyone. You have to find out what’s good for your own body and soul. It’s always important to schedule in lots of time to rest. If you rush through your wellness treatment, you’re not going to find your inner peace.

If you’re looking to treat yourself to more than just a day of downtime at home with a good book and a cup of tea under the duvet, you need to book a stay in a good hotel with a wellness area. This can recharge your batteries, especially now in the colder time of the year. A few Flair Hotels are also geared towards wellness guests. We present the wellness areas of a few Flair Hotels here.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=“22px“][vc_column_text]

The Kranich-Insel in the Flair Hotel Weiss

The brand-new spa in the Flair Hotel Weiss in Angermünde (Uckermark) is called the “Kranich-Insel”. “A unique relaxation oasis awaits our guests,” says hotel manager Roy Weiss intriguingly. The Kranich-Insel is designed as a small, cosy village in Uckermark with half-timbered houses. You will find saunas in each “stall” and in the “barns”. In addition to a Finnish sauna (95 degrees), the bio sauna enriched with essential oils (60 to 65 degrees) and the “Kranichnest” with fresh herb hay from local meadows in the infrared sauna (40 degrees) offer pure relaxation. The old “goat shed” with rock salt is a salt cave sauna (50 to 60 degrees). The stone releases its salts in accurately regulated, moist air. This is a special treat for your skin and respiratory tract.

In the middle of the village, am Mühlstein, the ice fountain cools you down after your sauna. “Our shower temple with rain shower heads, splash shower, pails and Kneipp hose guarantee a real water experience,” says Roy Weiss. The heated bench with its foot basins ensures your circulation is stimulated after your sauna session.

A relaxing highlight of the Uckermark sauna village is the resting area with oversized glass atrium. “It encourages you to spend time daydreaming or to gaze up at the starry sky between sauna sessions – by the fireside, on first-class relaxation beds and with a view of the clear sky,” says the hotelier, making you long for some down time. The Kranich-Insel’s offer is completed by peelings and massages.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=“22px“][vc_gallery interval=“3″ images=“6126,5166,6132″ title=“SPA Kranich-Insel in the Flair Hotel Weiss“][blockquote text=“Switch off and enjoy“ show_quote_icon=“no“ text_color=“#4d4d4d“ width=“95″ line_height=“32″ border_color=“#ededed“][vc_empty_space height=“22px“][vc_column_text]

Sauerland relaxation in the Flair Hotel Nieder

Rest, relaxation and tranquillity is offered by “Quellkraft”, the Nieder nature spa. This is the wellness area belonging to the Flair Hotels Nieder in Bestwig-Ostwig (Sauerland).. “Here you can switch odd and enjoy the Sauerland in its best light,” promises hotel manager Josef Nieder. In addition to an aroma sauna and a steam bath with a minty aroma, the Finnish cabin sauna allows you to relax at 85 degrees. Spacious wellness showers complete the range of services offered. At the end of your session, a separate rest area is available in the winter garden, providing a great view of the natural lake swimming area. A fireplace provides cosy warmth in autumn and winter.

The whole Quellkraft spa is designed in the Sauerland style, thus provides a pleasant atmosphere. “The large natural lake swimming area in the picturesque setting of our garden area also offers relaxation and vitality,” explains Josef Nieder. With a fully biological constructed wetland, this is wonderfully refreshing in the summer and excellent for cooling off after a sauna session during the colder times of the year. “Our garden area always gives you the opportunity to relax in the fresh air surrounded by a wonderful array of blooms,” says the hotelier.

The offers available in the Quellkraft spa also comprise various aromatic Sauerland massages and a number of additional wellness treatments such as basic body and facial treatments that offer a special sense of well-being. Medically recognised and certified natural cosmetics emphasise the word natural in the natural spa. “Here you can escape from everyday life with a unique wellness offering and let yourself be pampered far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life,” says hotel manager Nieder.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=“22px“][vc_column_text]

Haus der Sinne in the Flair Hotel Zum Schwarzen Reiter

You find yourself in the “Haus der Sinne” when you enter the wellness area in the Flair Hotel Schwarzer Reiter in Horgau (Bavarian Swabia region). All offers are coordinated with the four basic elements of fire, water, air and earth. “The four elements theory states that everything consists of these four basic elements,” explains hotel manager Brigitte Platzer. “We work with them in the wellness area to harmonise the senses.” You can feel and experience the four elements in the Haus der Sinne with all of your senses.

Go on a journey of self-discovery in the “fiery” tecaldarium, in the “earthy” soft and outside sauna, in the steam bath in the “water” element and in the quiet winter garden where the “earth” is warmed by the “sun”, and “air” and “earth” are combined in the thermal loungers. The wellness guests can also enjoy an ice grotto, a multi-sensory shower and a shed sauna. Three harmoniously designed treatment rooms invite you enjoy relaxing, invigorating and fortifying back massages, element baths, couples treatments and wellness and Ayurvedic massages. A top-quality fitness room is also available.

If you want to relax, switch off and stimulate your senses, you can also stay overnight. Rooms and suites are available here that are also designed based on the four elements. In the Fire Suite for example, a stream of lava flows down the wall, whereas birds hover on the walls in the Air Suite. All rooms and suites in the House of Senses have a lifestyle bathroom. This means that wet areas such as multi-sensory showers, shower temples, bathtubs, softwhirl tubs or whirlpools are integrated in the living room.

The offers available in the Quellkraft spa also comprise various aromatic Sauerland massages and a number of additional wellness treatments such as basic body and facial treatments that offer a special sense of well-being. Medically recognised and certified natural cosmetics emphasise the word natural in the natural spa. “Here you can escape from everyday life with a unique wellness offering and let yourself be pampered far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life,” says hotel manager Nieder.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=“22px“][blockquote text=““Indulge in some time out”
