Probably the most important and famous hiking trail through the Lüneburg Heath is the Heidschnuckenweg. This path is so named because of the Heidschnucken – a native breed of sheep that live there. With a little luck you can even watch them grazing!

The Heidschnuckenweg begins in the Harburg mountains, crosses the entire heath and extends to Celle in the Südheide. Depending on your fitness and mood, you can split up short or longer stretches on the 223 km long hiking trail. On the way you will encounter varied landscapes, wonderful views and idyllic heath villages.

The Heidschnuckenweg has been recognized as a quality trail by the German Hiking Association.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][qode_simple_quote text_title_tag=“h2″ author_title_tag=“h4″ background_color=“#75b81d“ simple_quote_text=“"… a beautiful heather area"“ quote_symbol_color=“#ffffff“ simple_quote_author=“Christine Buchholz – Flair Hotel Zur Eiche“][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Heaven and Hell hiking trail

On the hiking trail that starts from Buchholz in the Nordheide, one literally encounters “heaven and hell”. In the middle of the city there is an idyllic lake and after climbing the second highest mountain in the Lüneburg Heath – the Brunsberg – you have a breathtaking panoramic view of the colorful spectacle. If you now descend from „heaven“, it leads you into the mystical hell gorge and the beautiful Büsenbach valley.

The approx. 21.3 km long hiking trail is particularly recommended in autumn, when nature creates wonderful works of art with a play of colors.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator type=“normal“ color=“#7afc00″][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]After a long day of hiking, you can indulge yourself in our Flair Hotel Zur Eiche , because it is located in the middle of the Lüneburg Heath.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Eifel

A thousand years ago, red hot magma and groundwater collided, creating powerful eruptions. The resulting craters subsequently filled with water and today are better known as the maars (lakes) of the Volcanic Eifel or the “Eyes of the Eifel”. The Dauner Maars are a unique geological natural product and offer superb walks.

Moselle & Rhein

The Moselle and Rhein meet at the famous “German Corner” in Koblenz, whilst Koblenz’s old town invites you to take a stroll through it. The Moselle and Rhein rivers quietly wind through picturesque landscapes, past countless castles and palaces, wonderful vine-covered hills and romantic wine-growing villages offering excellent cuisine, and entice you to go on a leisurely boat trip.
